About Gloria’s

Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance was founded in honor of the late Gloria Dingus and her lasting vision to bring world-class music to everyone.

At the organization's inception, Drum & Strum hosted live performances for the Alliance in its Listening Room during the weekends.

After just one year performing live music in this space, a larger venue was needed to host events. A space was solidified on 92 Main Street in September of 2018, and construction commenced immediately to transform suite 104.

Not long after construction, the venue was christened Gloria’s—a commemoration to its inspiration, Gloria Dingus.
Gloria’s is a 4,500 square foot venue that is part art gallery, part event space.

Each year, a scholarship will be issued to a child to support music lessons to any teaching school or business and/or for the purchase of an instrument.

John Cowan, also known as the "Voice of Newgrass," has been singing for thirty-seven years, and his soaring vocals have only improved with time. A true innovator, John applies his powerful pipes to genres from country, bluegrass, and gospel to soul, jazz, and rock-and-roll—often within the space of a single concert. His ability to move fluidly through multiple styles and carry mesmerized audiences on a journey has set him apart as one of the most loved and admired vocalists of his generation, not just by fans and critics, but among fellow musicians as well.

The Nighthawks are an American blues and grassroots band, based in Washington, D.C. The Nighthawks include Mark Wenner (vocals and harmonica), Paul Bell (lead guitar), Johnny Castle (bass guitar), and Mark Stutso (drums). The Nighthawks won the Traditional Blues/R&B Duo/Group Award at the 2009 Washington Area Music Awards. In 2011, their album, "Last Train to Bluesville," won the Acoustic Album of the Year at the 32nd Blues Music Awards, sponsored by the Blues Foundation.
